Oh, recommending books for English learners is very dangerous!!! :-D

It entirely depends on what kind of books you like, and what level your reading comprehension is at.

My favourite author is Stephen King, a horror writer, but if you don't like horror books, then you would hate them! They're also full of colloquialisms and a style of writing that is very personal to him, so I wouldn't recommend them.

All I would say is try to find an English translation of a book you have already read in your own language first. That way, you already have a good idea of what happens and you'll be able to recognise a lot of it without having to run to a dictionary all the time.

It should indeed, and I thought I had corrected it as such. Having looked back at my post, I now see that I didn't. Oops!
