Is the B's sentence correct? Shouldn't it have been "I wouldn't eat it"? Isn't "Even if this had been my favourite dish, I wouldn't be eating it" more correct? Which sounds correct colloquially?

The version with "I wouldn't be eating it" sounds more conversational and less formal. Either version sounds natural to me in a conversational register.

"If this had been my favorite dish" doesn't work in your case. Stick to "if this was my favorite dish".

Or everyone's favourite (the subjunctive), "Even if this were my favourite dish ...".

Note that in post #1, "At least" should be two words.
