Extension of above definition is very common but only with the example:"extension of the program to all in need"

I'm not sure if this is what you want, but:

a) He built an extension to his house to use as an office.

b) The university is building an off-campus extension about 80 miles east of here.

c) Heating one end of this metal rod will cause an extension in length of about 3 mm.

Actually no, I would like to see the uses of the meaning given. I know the meaning used in your examples but mine is different and rare one. Because you did this as a native speaker, it is clear that I asked the question badly. Would somebody also correct the question please?
