And he kinda pulled away like he was trying to get away, but he couldn’t take his eyes off of it.

In the above sentence is it appropriate to say "
he couldn’t take his eyes off of it" or just "he couldn’t take his eyes off it"?

Please advise.

In the context of that informal utterance, 'off of' is fine.

'Off of' is not considered standard BrE; 'off' is sufficient.
