faithful and fidel

Hi,
I would like to know the difference between faithful and fidel.
I wonder when I should use the first and the latter.

There is no such word as "fidel".

Perhaps you mean "fidelity" = the quality or state of being faithful. It implies strict and continuing faithfulness.

"faithful" = steadfast in affection or allegiance as well as meaning loyal: "He was a faithful friend to the princess".
