The George family becomes in the plural the Georges. What about the Stevens family, how it is said in the plural?

I will always write that as Stevenses. I add an -es to a noun ending in S whether it is a proper noun or a common one.

Jim Stevens.
Jim Stevens's wife, Anne.
Jim and Anne and their kids are the Stevenses.
This is Fido. He is the Stevenses' dog.

OK. I'll meet you halfway. From englishforum.com:

If there are two people at a meeting who are called Jones, you could say, "There were two Joneses at the meeting.

However, although the general rule is to add es to the name it becomes somewhat cumbersome with some names. For example, it looks most awkward if you said there were two Culbertsonses at the meeting, or two Edwardses, or two Bateses.

And I would throw the Stevens family in that bunch. (No pun intended--well, actually it was)
