Does "cousin" in here mean comrade/counterpart? I think that with fear comes anger.
Definition of the word cousin in this dictionary has nothing to do with the exact meaning of cousin in the above context.

Fear and anger are related, just like cousins.

Definition of the word cousin in this dictionary has nothing to do with the exact meaning of cousin in the above context.

Words are not always used in their literal meaning.
