:)Can you please explain the following sentences?( Especially the three red parts) THanks in advance

This book points out the real strength in what has been a femine preserve in this culture. Girls are raised to be emotionally astute and perceptive, but sons learn little about emotions except how to control anger. However, women have felt powerless to bringup the idea of emotions as a serious topic.

The book indicates the value of emotion, which has generally been regarded as something that is characteristic of women in the culture under discussion.

Girls are brought up to be more aware of other people and their feelings or situations, whereas boys are not made aware of emotion apart from learning how to control anger.

However, women have not felt it was possible to raise [bring up] the emotions as something that should be discussed seriously.

See blue additions for consideration:

This book points out the real strength in what has been (traditionally considered strictly a feminine trait) a femine preserve in this culture. Girls (daughters?) are raised to be emotionally astute and perceptive, but sons (boys?) learn little about emotions, except how to control anger. However, women have felt powerless to bring up the idea of emotions as a serious topic.
