That first sentence seems a little strange. The first performance of what? If it was something called, "The grand opening of May Theater" then "of" would be correct. This seems unlikely. It is probably referring to the first performance of any sort, at a place called May Theater, to mark its grand opening. In that case "for" would be fine.

I found it on a promotional leaflet introducing the Chinese musical director, Mr. Li for a Chinese Opera performance.
