Dear teachers,

when doing geography you often come across countries or regions that are used to show the "manifestation" of a certain fact or development. Let's talk for example about the climate in higher regions. Then we could use the Alps as a ______ (= "example region") for that kind of climate. Or when talking about mass tourism, we could take Mallorca as such an example.

I'm looking for a word that can be used for "example region".

Like in: Mallorca as a / an _____________________ of / for mass tourism.

Can you help me? I need it for a heading of a paper.

Thanks in advance

Something like "Mallorca is a prime example of a mass tourism destination".

If you're open to using a verb, I recommend typify/typifies.

Hmmmm.... I don't think you are looking for a complete sentence. Rather you want a heading that describes the essence of the article that follows. It is probably for a vacation brochure or magazine, am I right?

If this is the case, I might suggest the following

Mallorca - A Summer Fun Destination For All Vacationers

The Alps - Not just a Winter Destination for Skiing
