Which of these is correct:

1-For building the wall, we had been given bricks and mortar.
2-To build the wall, we had been given bricks and mortar,
3-In order to build the wall, we had been given bricks and mortar.

4-We had been given bricks and mortar with which to build the wall,

(I know this is getting a bit repetitive, but I have managed to get myself confused again.)

2 & 4 sound best. 3 is right. 1, though I wouldn't say it was completely wrong, is a bit clumsy. ;-)
