Is this sentence correct:
1-For going there, I only had a bike.

Yes, but it doesn't seem very natural. :(

Perhaps:

  • I had to get there by noon, and I only had a bike.

What do you think?

A context would help make clear the precise meaning. But I'll offer up:

My only means of transport was a bike. OR
My only means of getting there was by bike. OR
The only mode of transport available (to me) was my bike.

How about:

1-I only had a bike to get me there.
2-I only had a bike to go there on.

In the first, you could also omit 'me'. ;-)

Thanks everybody,
I think one copuld also go the other way too.
What do you think about:
3-I only had a bike to get myself there with.
or:
4:I only had a bike to get myself there on.

They're OK, but I'd be tempted to drop the prepositions. ;-)
