Dear Tarheel,

I am writing to ask you for some information about the city which is Charlotte in Carolina. I am interested in visiting it in the near future. I have tried searching on the internet. However, I could not find answers all my questions.

Firstly, could you please tell me if I can enter your country on an ID card instead of a passport? I am an Uzbek citizen and I am planning to stay in Charlotte for about two weeks. Furthermore, could you tell me what the weather is like over there? The main reason why I am asking is I do not like hot weather. What is more, could you inform me about how I can get to the city centre from the airport? In addition, I would like to ask you some personal questions: the first one is could you tell me what you like to have for breakfast? the last one is could you inform me about your hobbies?

I look forward to hearing from you. Please send me a reply as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,
[A, B]

If you want to tag somebody type their username after the "at" sign, like this: @Tarheel. (If course, I wouldn't ordinarily tag myself.)

Try: "I'm writing to ask you about Charlotte, North Carolina. I would like to go there for a visit. I tried searching on the internet, but I couldn't find answers to all of my questions."

Well, the climate is pretty good, but there's nothing to see. 😊 Well, there is something. (My friend Liz knows some places.)

I have to run now. I'll finish later. (I have to go to Food Lion, and I haven't even finished my list.)

@Amigos4 It's supposed to be writing practice. (It's supposed to look like an email.)

@ubahrom I don't think Canadians need a passport, so just tell them you're Canadian. 😊

Charlotte has a temperate climate with hot summers and mild winters. (There is only a 50% chance of snow in any given year.) The best seasons are spring and fall.

As for hobbies, this is my hobby. 😊 (My favorite online games are chess and Quiz Planet, a trivia game.)

The first two sentences of the second paragraph are practically perfect, one minor point being that the second one could use a comma.

I usually have cold cereal for breakfast, but what I really like is pancakes. Also sausage and eggs.

As for going uptown from the airport, I would just call a cab. 😊 However, the bus service is cheaper. (Most places they call it downtown.)

Forget about using "inform" in a personal email.

Well, that's for now. Back to bed for me.

You are right.
If the OP is meant to be "writing practice" it would be helpful to state that in the post. I actually thought ubahrom was seeking travel information about his future trip to Charlotte. ;)

Point of information: Just telling the border services officer that you are Canadian won't get you into Canada!
I don't think Canadians need a passport, so just tell them you're Canadian. 😊
All international travelers must carry acceptable identification and a valid visa (if necessary) when entering Canada. A passport is recommended because it is the only reliable and universally-accepted travel and identification document for the purpose of international travel. Travelers from Uzbekistan also need a travel visa to enter Canada.

In another thread, Tarheel specifically asked the OP to start a new thread and pretend to write an email to Tarheel asking about Charlotte. Unfortunately, that wasn't mentioned in post #1.

@Amigos4 Didn't you notice the smiley (emoji)? I was making an attempt at humor.

Well, you're the doctor or in a better position to judge.

Two things. One, I'm pretty sure she's not a doctor. (I could be wrong.) Two, do you like my answers?

Wow! There really are some places to see in Charlotte. 😊

I've never seen a Charlotte Knights game, but I'd like to.
@Tarheel - Man, you really need to get out of the house more often! ;)
