i m applying for an opening in an ambassy where they are asking for a covering letter describing the reason why i think m the most suitable candidate for the post . could you help me in giving me few examples as how to justify that i m among the other applicants is the best.

It is the same as applying for a job in a company. You need to explain what are your strong points and how they apply to the job concerned.
