Some say that it is a tense. I reject that idea and say that we use the present tense, of modal or the main verb or 'going to' to express the idea of future time. It is not an aspect. Aspect shows whether an action is complete (perfect) or incomplete (progressive). With states, the perfect aspect suggest duration while the progressive aspect suggests something more temporary.
