Hello everyone
I'd like to ask about the meaning of "urgency" in the following sentence.

The night air was cool and dry, and it blew softly toward the east -- a breeze at this moment, but gaining strength and urgency with passage of time.

What does "urgency" mean in this case?

Probably the author wants to indicate that it blows more frequently; puffs of wind come closer together.
