Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?
“How did you get on with Marta?”
Jones said. “We got on like a house on fire.”
get on like a house on fire = have a very good, friendly relationship
Thank you for your efforts.
Regards,
V.
