I am wondering if my sentence is grammatically correct.

Gina sat at the table, drinking wine and debating whether she should leave her hometown and find luck somewhere else.

Consider "pondering" instead of "debating". What do you mean by "find luck"?

teechar,
I believe I should have written, "and try luck somewhere else."

Use "... and try her luck elsewhere."

I'd certainly use "try her luck" but I'd leave "somewhere else". Again, it comes down to personal preference.
