Hi,

I heard a native speaker saying the following sentence. I tried searching the sentence on Google but couldn’t find anything like that. Is it correct English?

John has gone on a personal emergency; I will fill in for him and answer your questions.

Thanks,

MG.

It is comprehensible.

It would be better to have said "...has had to go and deal with a....." or "...is away dealing with a....
