In the context of:
"That’s because willpower is a finite resource with diminishing returns. You only have a certain amount of willpower to use, and the more you force yourself to use it during the day, the less you’ll have available. By the time you would have theoretically gotten to that roast, it’s almost a guarantee it would have turned into takeout."

Could anyone help me paraphrase or explain the bold sentence? I don't understand the meaning of it.
Thank you very much

I assume they're talking about a "roast dinner", a full meal (in the UK, usually eaten at Sunday lunchtime) which takes quite a long time and, I suppose, some willpower, to prepare. Sometimes, you might just find you haven't got the willpower left to bother to make it so you get a takeaway (that's BrE for "takeout" in the original).

Yes, emsr2d2's explanation is correct. I just did a quick Google search and discovered that the quoted text was used (a few years earlier on other websites). That means the version quoted above might have been plagiarized!

So what's the lesson to be learned here?
1- Please read only reputable websites if you're looking to improve your English.
2- Always quote (as Rover_KE has pointed out) the source of your text.
