Hi redhead,

A metaphor is a comparison between two different things using the verb "to be":

She is a sun. He is my port. They are angels.

A simile is also a comparison between two different things using the words
as or like:

He eats like a pig. She cries like a cat. She shines as bright as the sun.

Okay?
