Dear teachers,

I came across such a sentence: He became like his grandfather. I only know the pattern 'to become + n./adj.'. My question is : Is there such a pattern 'to become + prep. + n.' in English?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you in advance.

It means, He took on the qualities/characteristcs of his grandfather.
It's odd, but acceptable (e.g., He became like the wind and flew away).

All the best, :D
