I think that your sentence is PERFECT!

If you wanted to "fill it out," you could say:

Have you seen the second film version (that was) made four years ago?

Have a nice day!

This is Ok, but as you would appreciate, Version means variation of an earlier or original type. So I feel it sounds better as:
the second version of the film, the latest version of the software
