I think "Olympic gold medal" refers to the Olympic games only. I don't know what the appropriate phrase is for those winning gold medals in IT-related competitions.

"When I first started my job in the IT department of an internet service provider, I felt very intimidated by my supervisor, because he was such a dedicated and ingenious Linux system administrator. I think he has won several Olympic gold medals in Linux networking administration."

There are no Olympic events for Linux administrators. The sentence in bold would be fine if you omitted Olympic.

What makes you think there is one?

If you really think he's won awards, just say so.

If you don't really think he's won awards and you just want to exaggerate to be funny, "Olympic gold medals" is good.

You need a definite article. Can you see where?

He has won several gold medals in the International Olympiads in Informatics. (Because there is only one kind of this competition in the world)

Olympiad should be singular. The rest is okay.

I was thinking there was more than one. He won several medals. (Apparently, he is the world champion of IT.)

Can we make it shorter in the following way?
He has won several gold medals in the International Olympiads in Informatics.
"When I first started my job in the IT department of an internet service provider, I felt very intimidated by my supervisor, because he was such a dedicated and ingenious Linux system administrator, winning several gold medals in the International Olympiad in Informatics."

As GS suggested, use singular with the.

Lose the comma after supervisor and write having won.

write having won.
Thank you so much. I have always wanted to know if we have the perfect tense how we can use the participle form. Thank you so much.
