Hello, I wonder what the 'it' in the text below refers to? The name? The singing? What do you think?

"May the Valkyries welcome you and lead you through Odin's great battlefield. May they sing your name with love and fury, so that we might hear it rise from the depths of Valhalla, and know that you've taken your rightful place at the table of kings."

Then what does it mean when one's name can be heard rise from somewhere?

Thank you for your excellent explanation, Piscean.
Rover_KE, presumably, this is said at a Viking's funeral in an animated film called How to Train Your Dragon http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1646971/quotes.

Dark_Fury, your use of "presumably" suggests that you don't actually know where the quote came from. It suggests that you are guessing. Is that right?

I suppose I should've written "apparently" instead, emsr2d2. Thank you for your correction. I found the text through Google, I haven't watched the film myself, so who knows what actually was said in the scene.
