Hello,
I am trying desperately to understand objects but am having very little luck given that all my textbooks either contradict themselves or each other. Clearly there are scores of definitions of the term object, some which overlap others and some which contradict others. Does anyone have any idea where the concept originated, so I could go to the source? I am aware this may have been way back at the time of the ancient greeks but if I could find out what the original meaning was then I think that would help me!
Or does anyone know a good site or source on the evolution of the meaning of grammatical terms?
Thanks!
