I need help my friends, I'm not sure of mistakes, I think the essay is nearly finished, but if can correct me, I 'll owe you one, thank you

During the first meeting that Henry Briggs, an English mathematician who lived from 1561 to 1630, had with John Napier in Edinburgh where almost one quarter of an hour was spent, each beholding the other with admiration, before one word was spoken. At last Briggs began, -"My Lord, I have undertaken this long journey purposely to see your person, and to know by what engine of wit or ingenuity you came first to think of this most excellent help unto astronomy, viz. the Logarithms; but, my Lord, being by you found out, I wonder nobody else found it out before, when now known it is so easy.

If we put attention to the folk story, curious details will appear in front of our eyes; Briggs (like he wrote) was looking forward to meet Napier, he had been fascinated with their work; Briggs made a very long trip to satisfy his curiosity, curiosity shared by humans, the same curiosity that now leads me to know other schools, other teachers, other minds, other worlds.

Since I was a child, I have been guided to the knowledge; I remember with sympathy, that I was amazed by the dinosaurs, those big reptiles of the past, monsters for someone, but not for me; I began to make a lot of questions and I start myself in the empirical research, I reviewed books, I read magazines, I consulted encyclopedias, I collected scale reproductions, I compiled myriad material and I achieved to answer some questions, but to more answers, more questions arose, and while I learned more, I knew less; I think that it was the breakpoint to understand the incommensurable of our world and my interest to the general knowledge grew.

I’m proud to say, that my family educated me and my sister in a very special way, because my parents teach us the value of the culture and the knowledge, but one day I understand that the only way to make it grow, is going after it; and when you find the path you can’t and you must not stop. How is the education in other countries? How are other Universities? How are the people in other places? What is the pedagogical strategy? How are the schedules? Were some questions that I found in my head when I saw the “Study Abroad Program”, I can’t stop thinking of the experience in other academy, another country, and different people; undoubtedly the curiosity “is killing the cat”.

After the years I have realized that the curiosity changed my life, when I chose my major, I opt for a profession that let me see the world by the eyes of the great minds of history and his legacy. Nowadays that is what I’m trying to do, that’s main reason why I want to be accepted in this call.

I don’t forget to mention the pride I feel for my major and university, and the concern in trying to develop my academic abilities in other languages. The goals and achievements of this amazing journey will help me to grow, to re-think in what I have and what I want and the best of all will expand my comprehension.

In the whole it represents the chance to answer my questions in a University honored like California, study in a place with different science, new technology and renewed social behaviors, this is my chance to meet Napier, a reborn Napier, who is now Academy and knowledge.

Dear Sir:

Your attempt at writing an English essay is admirable, but has many defects, some small and some large.

One of the most important rules in the translation industry is never to translate into a language different from your native language. The same applies to attempting to write in a language that is not your own.

I would be interested to know why you have tried to do this.

I expect an assignment has been given in his English class.

There is a fair amount to revise still.
