Dear all:

If I want to say "we should do exercise everyday" in a way that highlights the requirement of being persistent, what verb can be added? Are the below acceptable?

"We should KEEP doing excercise everyday" Ok?
"We should PERSIST in doing excercise e..." Ok?
"We should PERSEVERE in doing excercise e.." Ok?

Thanks ahead!

***Neither a teacher nor a native speaker.***

Hello,

The first one sounds okay (in my opinion).
You could also say, ..keep on doing...
I cannot say if the other two sentences are acceptable as well.

Another sentence could be:
We should continue doing excercise everyday.
(At least this is how I would say it.)

Cheers!

Thanks for your reply Nightmare85!
"keep on doing" sounds good to me. I do remember hearing that somewhere.

But I find myself unable to grasp the nuance of "keep doing" and "keep on doing" so maybe native speakers can tell that?

Does "continue doing" involve the meaning of "being persistent?

More answers are expected:-D

The problem with all of these is that it's not clear if you used to exercise, and you're saying it's important to continue to do so, of if you need to start exercising, and then keep at it.

Great call!
I'd say "I need to start exercising, and then keep at it. " is the one I want
So let's do this: "I should__?__ do(ing) excercise".

Thank you!
