I don't understand the grammar of exclamation.

This is an example i found on newspaper.

....... "Was that an emotional experience!" said Jon Deak, a bass player....

I wonder if i want to make a sentence with exclamation do i have to reverse the postion of the sudject and the verb?:-?

Hi flyby, no you needn't do that. Really, the inversion is used here to give emphasis, but the sentence:

That was (really) an emotional experience! would also be perfect.
