As for the grammar, the sentence is inevitably correct. However, there is a question that sprang into my mind: do we really use the word connection "bright childhood"? To my mind, these two words do not collocate with one another. Despite the fact that bright can mean "happy and lively" (His eyes were bright and hopeful.), under no circumstances would I say that this word connection sounds good, or bright could be used in such a context.
Being an English buff, but not a native speaker, I would be tremendously interested in whether we use these two words together.
