how to explain the use of here and there

These are all OK: This place is terrible. It is terrible here. Here is where I sleep.

So, why is this is not OK: Here is terrible.

This is OK: I live here. I like it here.
So why is this is not OK: I like here.

I think 'Here is terrible' is ok, I can't see why not. Regarding 'I like here', it is not correct because like needs an object 'it': 'I like it here' (it is a transitive verb). Bye

here is terrible is wrong since you're missing a subject. When we talk about distance, time, place etc we use it as a subject. It's terrible here is the correct way of putting it.

In Here is where I sleep 'here' means : this is the place...
