I'm not sure if I got your problem right. I try to help you by providing you with some examples.

full

The invoice amount is to be paid in full.

This book is full of errors.

He thought about it all night full of despair and longing.

less

You use less to modify a singular noun.

The job is less difficult than I was told.

Compare:

fewer

You use fewer to modify a plural noun.

I have fewer essays to write than last year.

Does that help?

I'm getting the impression that you meant adjectives ending in the suffixes -ful and -less, innit? :)

Basically, adjectives ending in -ful are in opposition to adjectives ending in -less; the suffix -ful means with/having the qualities of, while -less without/lacking:

careful vs. careless
faithful vs. faithless
hopeful vs. hopeless

It's worth mentioning that not every adjective ending in -ful has an opposite counterpart in an adjective ending in -less, and vice versa:

beautiful, but not beautiless
worthless, but not worthful
