To give his foibles to someone.

To give his foibles to someone.

That doesn't make much sense to me. I only knew one definition of "foible" which was a slight flaw or weakness of character, which someone wouldn't be able to "give to someone". I also found that it's the weakest part of a sword blade, but that doesn't make sense either.

Can we have more context? Can you post the whole sentence or part of the paragraph from which you took this?
