For the past few months one of my family members has been fighting cancer. That is why I am interested in matters related with cancer. Today I came across the following fragment and would like you to help me unravel the meaning of one phrase. The phrase is bolded.

As always, if it persists, get it checked, but somehow being in this situation amplifies every little pain you would ordinarily ignore. I got a shoulder blade pain and realized I was holding myself funny because I had breast cancer, stupid, but there you go.

Could you tell me what "hold oneself funny" mean?
