Wikipedia is not always edited properly. So, could this excerpt from Wikipedia have some problem:


"Evander Holyfield holds other notable victories over fighters such as; George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Riddick Bowe, Ray Mercer, Mike Tyson (x2), Michael Moorer, John Ruiz, Michael Dokes and Hasim Rahman. "

Is 'to hold a victory' standard English? Or is it wrong?

I think it is neither standard nor wrong. It is not a phrase that springs naturally to mind, but it is perfectly understandable in the context. I would have tended to pose it in the past rather than the present, e.g. Holyfield scored notable victories over ...

Yeah, this sentence does keep ringing in the ear, doesn't it
Instead of "hold other" you could use "will be remembered for," but that may stretch the initial intent of the author of this excerpt. I'm assuming the author wanted to equate "victories" and "trophies," but fighters are seldom skinned after losing a match.
