Dear teacher,

My question is:

I (want/hope/wish) him to come tomorrow.

Which verb is the best answer, and why?
And why the others are not suitable?

Thanks a lot!!

best,

Hello,

1. I want him to come tomorrow.
==> 'want' takes a noun as its object.

2. I hope he comes tomorrow.
==> 'hope' takes a sentence as its object.

3. I wish he would come tomorrow.
==> 'wish' also takes a sentence as its object.

'wish' can also take a nominal as its object:

4. I wish him well.
5. I wish him the best.
6. I wish the best for him.

All the best,
