I wrote a sentence, but someone changed it. But I am not sure the difference, and how you use it..please advise

old


The key to exercise, eat well, and take care of yourself is to aim for better health.

new

The key to exercising, eating well, and taking care of yourself is to aim for better health.


why change a regular verb to Ving?

please advise!

Both the original and the revised versions are rather odd. It would be better stated as:

The key to better health is exercising, eating well and taking care of yourself.

why dont you use

The key to better health is to exercise, eat well and take care of yourself.

I think that is my main question..thanks!
