Which of the following sentences is more correct
" How far is it from London to Manchester?"
or
"How far is London from Manchester?" ?

Both forms are correct. I'd probably prefer to use the first in spoken English, though maybe the second in written English (depending on context).
Or you could also ask
'What's the distance between London and Manchester?'
