Let's see who resolves this puzzle soonest and gives the right answer!!


There's a bus with 7 girls
Each girl carries 7 bags
Each bag carries 7 big cats
Each big cat carries 7 smaller cats
(All the cats have 4 legs)

Question: how many legs are on the bus?


Now, be honest.. No cheating.

49 bags x 7 big cats each = 343 big cats

343 big cats x 4 legs each = 1,372 big cat legs


343 big cats x 7 kittens = 2,401 kittens

2401 kittens x 4 legs = 9,604 kitten legs


7 girls x 2 legs = 14 girls' legs

1,372 big cat legs + 9,604 kitten legs + 14 girls legs = 10,990 legs.

Plus the driver's legs = 10,992 legs.

I've been awake a long time, ScotsMaggie! Common usage allows passengers to travel on buses, on trains, and on ships; in the given example, cats, kittens, and girls are passengers; therefore, in this example, there are a total of 10,990 legs on the bus!
