[Vocabulary] How to explain "would"?

Hi there!

I know that the correct answer is "May we come", because may expresses permission, authorization. I'm not sure about "Would I come" here. I believe it's wrong, but I lack a good explanation to justify it. I appreciate any help on this :).

What is the correct way to complete the following request for permission? “_______ to visit you next week?”
( ) Can you came
( ) Would I come
( ) May we come
( ) I would like
( ) You could come

"Would I" is not ordinarily used when asking for permission.
It's possible in such sentences as, e.g., "Would I be bothering you if I came to see you next week?" but not in a simple request as in your question above.
