Hello, everyone. :) I happened to enter this webpage today. I found it's interesting and useful for me, so I decided to join it. Glad to talk with you all here.

Now could I share my difficulties with you? I am a new immigrant from China. After I came here, English was my first problem. Sometimes, reading and writting are alright. But as to listening and speaking, these really make me headache. As you known, the native people speak English very fast. It's really difficult for me to follow. Could you tell me how to make my listening stronger? Now I am trying to watch the TV programs, listening and learning the new words. However, I don't know if it will help since I don't understand what they said after listening. Though I can write and read sometimes, I foud it's not easy to express myself fluently. Is it because I lack of practice?

Please do me a favor to give me some suggestions. Look forward to your replies. Thank you! 8) [/code]

Here are some links to sites where you can practice your listening- some have special exercises which will help you focus on the skills needed to understand spoken English. ;-)

Ali, there's no simple answer. Listening takes time and practice. Have a look at the link above for some simple listening practice. ;-)
