How to use the verb "Benefit"

"benefit' is a frequent appeared word, I am fuzzy on using it, like who benefit from who, who is benefited from what.

how can i master it beautifully?

As a verb, benefit means to help.

The flowers will benefit from a good rain.

As a noun, a benefit can be an event that helps people.

A benefit was held to help the flood victims.

or it can be a program that helps

He receives medical benefits from the government.
