"No matter", "however" and "regardless of" can be used somewhat interchangeably. They are not interchangeable with "how much" or "how".

Let's do this no matter how long it takes.
Let's do this however long it takes.
Let's do this regardless of how long it takes.

You could say "Let's do this regardless of how much time it takes" but if you change "time" to "long", it's wrong.
