Where should "however" go, before or after "have"?

Increased commercialization and demands for more accountability, however, have led sports authorities to adopt the form of a company.

Increased commercialization and demands for more accountability have, however, led sports authorities to adopt the form of a company

Does it make a difference?

Thanks.

*****NOT A TEACHER*****

Good afternoon.

My books tell me the following:

(a) There is no absolute rule for the placement of "however."

(b) `The word emphasizes whatever PRECEDES it.

(c) "However" comes after the first significant unit.

(d) Therefore, it seems that it might (might!) be preferable to put "however" before "have," for you are presumably emphasizing "commercialization" and "demands" -- not "have."

(e) I guess (only a guess) that IF you wanted to emphasize "have led," then you would have placed "however" after "led" -- "have led" being a unit.

Thank you.
