Sorry, I was not clear. I didn't mean the type of crime. I meant the type of document. Are you talking about a letter telling the plaintiff and the accused the date and time of the court hearing? Or a letter demanding that they both attend court? A letter giving them details of the solicitors involved in the case on each side?
I've never been heavily involved in a court case but I suspect that there is a lot of documentation involved. It is probably normally sent to the solicitor/lawyer involved, but there are probably some documents which must be sent/delivered direct to the two main parties.
You will also find that there are different types of paperwork depending on which part of the UK you're talking about. Scotland has different procedures from England.
