I don't understand the meaning of "terminates" in this case

Hi,

The call is an inbound trunk call from Network Region A that terminates at the remote extension in Network Region B. The issue for the application is whether it is more efficient to use a recording a device in Network Region A or Network Region B to record the call.

The above sentences are from a technical document, I don't understand the meaning of "terminates" in this case,
Please help to explain the meaning of "terminates" in detail.

to end" (the signal is not relayed further)

So (metaphorically) the call starts in A and ends in the extension of B, i.e. someone in B is the receiver. Not in the meaning that the call is "hung up", though. ​

The call is made on a network. The network has two ends. The call originates in region A and ends in region B. That's the path the signal takes.
