I am confused in the following sentences:
1. I punched in the wall.
2. I punched on the wall.
3. I punched into the wall.
4. I punched onto the wall.

All the above sentences are correct ? One more thing, I would like to know is: when "in and "into" are interchangeable ?

Sir, I would like to know better the following sentences:
1. When I look into her eyes.
2. When I look in your eyes.

Can I say, " when I look in her eyes" and " when I look into your eyes. I was told that "into" and "in are interchangeable in these sentences; but, I never hear the native speakers say " when I look in her eyes" They don't interchange " into" into "in" while they are saying the sentance. They always say, " when I look into her eyes" not " when I look in her eyes". Likewise, they don't say " when I look into your eyes" they say " when I look in your eyes". I am confused. Are both the sentences interchangeable or not ?

Please don't address forum members as "sir". It excludes female participants.

Indeed, it's even the very first line of that maudlin 90's Bryan Adams song "Everything I do".

Of course, every time he sings that line, his eyes are closed.

Is "look in my eyes " grammaticality incorrect? If it is so, "when i look in your eyes" a song from c21 will also be incorrect?

Both in and into are correct. I'd say into.
