When someone say that " I saw the girl in the company yesterday ", How should I properly understand that sentence?
Does it mean yesterday he saw the girl who was a staff in the company or the company is the place where he saw the girl yesterday?
I appreciate your help!

It's ambiguous. Context would tell.

So, I can understand the above sentence with either ways. Could you please give me two contexts for those ways ?
I appreciate the help!

First give us the context in which you found that sentence, which does not sound natural to me.
