Idiomatic expression

Dear teacher,

Since english is a second language for me, certain idiomatic expressions cause me some difficulties. For example:

Which expression is the most appropriate ?

a) I approve of your conduct (most popular)
b) I approve your conduct ( is this good english ?)

a) I approve of your conduct (most popular)

b) I approve your conduct

a) fine
means that you think somebody's behaviour is excellent
to approve of sy/sg as in having a positive opinion of someone or something

b) no , since it doesn't really go together with "conduct"
to approve is usually used meaning to accept, permit or officially agree to something
e.g.
The court approved the sale of the property.
