2) Does "scissors and elbows" exist? Could it mean for instance in the case of close friends doing everything together?
And my last questions is in the same novel there is this expression:
A mother says to her child: "You'll live and get hurt, but when it's time, tell me. Say goodbye. Otherwise, I might not let you go. Wouldn't that be terrible, to just grab ahold?
